CHAPEL STREET PRECINCT LEADS THE WAY WITH NEW SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS

Shop Safer in Outside Retail Precincts

You still gotta keep an over-sized tutu (1.5 metre) level of distance from your fellow street homies when you leave the house.

Australia’s largest retail, entertainment and dining precinct, Chapel Street Precinct, launched a playful campaign that aims to educate Melburnians about safe shopping and remind them of social distancing protocols.

Consider yourself an unsung hero, keeping our community safe. Your mum will be proud. There’s more than one way of making social distancing fun! Have a look how we’re doing it…

Ballerina Betty | Thurston & Howell (South Yarra)

Future Boy | Brick & Mortar Supply (Greville St, Prahran)

Long Arm Lenny | Handworks (Prahran)

Fluro Freddy | Union Heights (Windsor)

Camo Kenny | Botanicah (Prahran)

Ballerina Betty | Daqua Interiors (South Yarra)

Mirror Mike | Casa Amuk (Prahran)

I’m perpetually impressed by the resilience and innovation our Chapel Street Precinct businesses have shown over the last few exceptionally difficult months. Although there is devastation, there are positive sentiments. I have had a front-row seat to the grace and camaraderie different traders have shown each other while some endure their worst financial period yet. Now we ask our community to do ‘their bit’ to help stop the spread,” said Ms. Chrissie Maus (Chapel Street Precinct General Manager)

As we build a COVIDSafe Australia, everyone must continue to practise physical distancing and good hygiene, and stay at home if you are sick.

CSPA HAS OUTLINED THE STANDARD SHOPPING-SOCIAL DISTANCING STYLE AS:

  • keep 1.5 metres away from others wherever possible
  • wear a face mask indoors and outdoors
  • avoid physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs and kisses
  • use tap and go instead of cash where possible
  • travel at quiet times and avoid crowds
  • if you see a crowded space do not enter
  • avoid large public gatherings
  • practise good hygiene
  • stay at home if you have any cold or flu symptoms. Seek medical advice and get tested for COVID-19
  • Get vaccinated if you are eligible

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE

One way to slow the spread of viruses, such as coronavirus, is physical distancing. The more space between you and others, the harder it is for the virus to spread.
