South Yarra

The Rustica empire, arguably the embodiment of Melbourne’s cafe culture, has announced its newest and largest flagship store to date, located in the lively, vibrant heart of Chapel Street, South Yarra. The new haunt will replace Rustica’s widely popular flagship bakery in Fitzroy, and additionally boast a night time offering alongside its popular breakfast and lunch menu, setting it apart from its sister stores.

501 Chapel St, South Yarra

Bright, bold & beautiful. A farm to fork mantra sets the tone for the brunch menu, which has everything from fruit filled bircher to scrambled eggs & seaweed.

383 Chapel St, South Yarra

OPPEN brings Melbourne’s version of a Scandinavian eatery to Windsor that celebrates wholesome foods and hygge vibes. Located on Maddock Street, next to the train station, this light and tranquil space is the perfect place for brunch dates, corporate lunches or private dining functions. Besides the all-day brunch menu (with vegan and gluten-free options available), their Danish-style OPPEN sandwiches on house-made rye are the highlight – choose from toppings like rare roast beef with spicy béarnaise sauce, or smashed avo with signature Vegemite shards.

20/2 Maddock St, Windsor

Tucked among the tall towers of South Yarra, this chic little hub delivers the goods. The industrial feeling interior contrasts beautifully with the pretty and delicious menu items. The apartment dwelling locals swarm to this hot spot, so get in early to avoid a wait.

12 Claremont St, South Yarra

A hop, skip, and a jump from Chapel Street’s designer shops, Pound dishes up coziness in spades. Try their famous steak pide with a coffee made by a true Italian!

5/566 Chapel St, South Yarra

Middle South East brings the essence of depth, honesty and culture to the heart of South Yarra. There’s a sense of passion, tradition and energy captured in this space. Experience true hospitality through their Middle-Eastern inspired food and drink, and stay long enough to celebrate – because what is theirs is surely yours to enjoy. Our pick? The Middle Parma; panko crumbed chicken fillet, topped with Napoli and smoked eggplant salsa, grilled halloumi cheese, served with hand-cut chips and greens. Top it off with a Middle Mary, $10 all day on a Sunday for you and your pal.

670 Chapel St, South Yarra

The bar & restaurant below the Olsen is an absolute gem! Parked on the corner of Chapel and Daly Street, Spoonbill is the perfect spot to catch up with friends, or take the lover for date night. The menu changes with the seasons so there’s always something new on offer, but our favourite thing about Spoonbill is the people watching from the street site tables. Grab yourself a glass of wine and watch Chapel Street roll by. Perfection.

637/641 Chapel St, South Yarra

If you haven’t heard of the new brunch madam in South Yarra, you either hate having a good time, or you live North Side. In either case, you probably won’t like it here. It’s far to too pink, the vibes are WAY too Palm Springs and you probably hate boozy breakfasts – so $30 bottomless cocktails with brunch won’t interest you at all. We won’t even get into the affordable prices, the ridiculously good Asian influenced plates of deliciousness or the really, really good coffee. You shouldn’t visit House of Lulu White. You’ll have far too good a time.

4 Yarra St, South Yarra

Prahran

Breathing new life into what once was Prahran’s post office, Angus & Bon takes inspiration from the steakhouses of New York with its casual class. Enjoy brunch with some friends by a window at one of the high tables inside or bask in the sunlight at the tables outside. Enjoy a menu of beautiful dishes – a Steak Frites wood-grilled to your liking, Market Fish, Vegetarian Risotto, and plenty more! Add on $39 to your main and you’ve got access to an unlimited supply of Mimosa, Bellini, Aperol Spritz, Bloody Mary, Colonial Beer and Cider! Currently, Angus & Bon are Bottomless Brunchin’ on Saturday & Sunday from 1 to 3 pm.

168 Greville St, Prahran

A Prahran staple that sits pride of place at the main Greville Street cross roads. Oscar Cooper’s coffee is always served as a double, the brunch menu filled with delectable bites & espresso martinis are served at breakfast time. As you can expect from Greville’s independant & boutique disposition, Oscar Cooper is a one of a kind.

160 Greville St, Prahran

Somewhat of a Prahran institution, set just behind Greville Street, Babble Bar and Cafe is our favourite people watching spot. The perfect place to bring your bestie, stroll down Greville Street and fall in love with our favourite boutique Prahran village. It’s a guarantee’d success.

4B Izett St, Prahran

Treat yourself to a taste of royalty at High Street’s Middletown Cafe. This darling brunch spot was themed after Dutchess Kate herself, so where else would you take dear bestie for brunch? Although the black waffles and a glass of bubbles are sure to go down a treat, the menu has plenty of other delights to choose from as well.

 229 High St, Prahran

Not only do they serve one hell of a coffee, Sugar Bowl Cafe get eco-points for using organic fair trade coffee beans. This is the place you wanna pop in for a cheeky treat with your bestie when your partner isn’t watching – slices, cookies and cakes with hot coffee/slice deals making it even harder to say ‘no’. There’s also freshly squeezed juices and smoothies available from $4.50.

Pran Central Shopping Centre, 325 Chapel St, Prahran

Visit Paris without having to leave the country. Enjoy Parisian pastries, delicate tea and coffee options or perhaps a resplendent wine for a French-inspired experience at this gem in the heart of Greville Street. While Chez Mademoiselle is a simpler edition of its older sibling, Chez Olivier, it retains the French charm and an ambience that’s entrancing, cosy and feminine.

123A Greville St, Prahran

Windsor

Settle into the slow, easy going vibe at this local coffee haunt. Dukes roasted coffee is their pour and a mighty fine one it is! If you’re after more than faultless brew, the brunch menu always pleases. Just make sure that you don’t let your meal pass by too quickly… you’re in Windsor after all.

169 Chapel St, Windsor

Your friendly neighbourhood purveyors of fine elixirs, libations and brews. Franklin Windsor serve delicious noms, Small Batch, in-house roasted coffee and all the best beans, beats, bagels and coffs.

38A Chapel Street, Windsor

Deep in the Windsor end of Chaps, School of 7 Bells is a favourite for morning city bound travellers. Bells, as it is affectionately known, is named after a legendary Colombian school that teaches kids a dark art: how to pick pocket! The final exam at the school consists of picking from a suit rigged up with seven strategically placed bells, whereby the child must pick the mark clean without ringing a single bell. Whilst these guys do not encourage pick pocketing they do a darn good coffee & very tasty food.

33-35 Chapel Street, Windsor

If you’re the type to rock Air Max 90s, Yellow Bird is the place for you! There’s great music, an affordable menu and an outdoor area that’s great for people watching on a warm morning. Most importantly there’s an all day breakfast menu for you late comers. A medley of the usual suspects, as well as the not-so-usual: billion $$$ strawberry pancakes, Scandanavian and ave amarilla corn fritters being a few to command attention.

1/122 Chapel St, Windsor

One of our all-time Windsor faves. Tusk is a relaxed hangout spot on the corner of Chapel and Green Street ticking all the right brunch boxes. Sit at one of the outdoor tables and catch some rays (if the weather is right) or grab a cosy spot inside. We love their delicious (and very Insta-worthy) blueberry and mascarpone pancake stack and their tusk breakfast (a chorizo number). Tusk really does has the best views of Chapel Street.

133 Chapel St, Windsor

Enjoy Bottomless Brunch at Miss Kuku every Saturday and Sunday. The Sip & Graze package includes unlimited food and cocktails for two hours for $59 per person. Available from 1pm. Book here.
