Deep-Heat Rivalry – The Hilarious Hockey Musical Parody at Chapel Off Chapel

Things are heating up in Prahran as Deep-Heat Rivalry skates into Chapel Off Chapel from 21 to 31 January 2027, bringing outrageous comedy, forbidden romance and plenty of off-ice action to Chapel Street.

Direct from London’s West End, this wildly entertaining musical parody follows Shane Hollandaise and Ilya Stroganoff, two fiercely competitive professional ice hockey superstars whose rivalry is legendary.

But beneath the bruises, big egos and heated confrontations lies a secret neither man is ready to admit: they’re hopelessly in love.

Written and directed by Olivier Award-nominated Trevor Ashley, with writing by Phil Scott, Deep-Heat Rivalry combines outrageous musical numbers, hilarious locker-room drama, cheeky innuendo and an abundance of theatrical chaos.

Expect powerhouse ballads, ridiculous sporting moments, emotional meltdowns and a whole lot of laughs as this adults-only production takes a playful swipe at the world of sports romance.

Whether you’re a musical theatre lover, comedy fan or simply looking for a fabulous night out in Melbourne, this is one summer show worth adding to your calendar.
