Melbourne is filled with the celebrity kind & with Chapel Street Precinct being the home to Melbourne’s best bars & restaurants, it makes sense that these high profile identities choose to spend their down time frequenting them when they manage to escape their busy schedules. We’ve put together a list of hot spots where you may bump into the stars in their natural habitat.
When not kicking goals, working on his Ratbagg men’s fashion line or partying it up overseas, AFL legend Dane Swan has been seen enjoying a dumpling or two at Hawker Hall. Whilst we’re in the realm of AFL, it also seems to be a favourite for WAGS Jesse Murphy, Hayley Robinson, Nadia Bartel, Kylie Brown & Renne Enright who often enjoy a night out there with the girls.
Queen Of Melbourne Chrissie Swan appears to love the Prahran Market just as much as we do! The TV & Radio star often enjoys a weekend shop at the market & recently uploaded a photo when she bumped into Real Housewives of Melbourne stars, Lydia Schiavello & Gina Liano. It seems they were shooting the popular series, so keep an eye out for that!
If you follow Lydia Schiavello on Instagram you will have seen her posting about her favourite Prahran Market spots – Gary’s Meats is one of them!
Abacus Kitchen and Bar
A café that’s taken Chapel Street by a storm this year is Abacus. With its exquisite interior, it’s no surprise that food bloggers love it! Ex reality TV star & blogger Tully Smyth is no exception, Tully’s often seen dining there & holding business meetings. We’ve heard comedian Joel Creasy is also a regular.
It’s the restaurant that brought a new lease of life to Windsor when it arrived a few years ago & has been a haven for celebs ever since. On any given night you’ll see some of Melbourne’s biggest names from Andy Lee & Brendan Fevola to Rebecca Judd & Nadia Bartel. Let’s be honest, those nori tacos are irresistible & with their latest addition to the menu being a Mr M. Goon Box, the celebs will be rolling in to have a glass!
Who knew fish bars were a thing?! Tommy Ruff arrived at the start of this year & has been providing seafood goodness to the good people of Chapel Street since! The ever so popular Instagram influencer Steph Claire Smith shared a snap to her 1.2 million followers a couple of months ago enjoying one of Tommy Ruff’s delicious fish salad dishes with a glass of wine in hand.
I don’t think there’s a Melbourne celebrity that hasn’t enjoyed a beverage at the iconic Morris Jones! It really does pull the big names, including international stars. Earlier this year Rebel Wilson shared a video enjoying a delicious ‘Nitro Violet Crumble’ dessert made especially for her by Head Chef Matthew Butcher. Actress & soon to be Bachelorette, Sophie Monk also makes sure she stops off at the bar when in Melbourne. Former X – Factor host Jason Dundas recently paid a visit. It’s also a favourite for The Real Housewives of Melbourne & many AFL stars.
And it goes without saying that the The Emerson is a rotating door for our favourite international & local familiar faces. Just recently R&B star Mario performed an exclusive set list for Emerson patrons. Having just launched their new ‘LOVE’ membership program, they enlisted the help of TV presenter & socialite Lauren Phillips alongside Nine sports reporter Clint Stanaway, who is seen at the establishment most weekends. Other celebrities who enjoy a drink on the infamous rooftop are Olympia Valance & her Neighbours co-star Mavournee Hazel, Jonathan Brown, Liz Cambage, Dale Thomas & many more.
So the next time you’re planning a night out on Chapel & want to dine amongst the celebrities of Melbourne, you know where to go!
