Taking inspiration from the unique city of Shinjuku in Tokyo, a popular city district famed for its narrow, winding alleys and numerous snug taverns, Golden Gai is topping our must visit list this month. They don’t have much of a presence online, but head chef Yomo has worked in Michelin star restaurants, so you know it’s gonna be a banger. Paying ode to old Tokyo, the energy of this place is like no other. A large mural plastered on the left wall and coloured light boxes hanging above patrons are just the beginning of what makes this Japanese fusion tapas bar and restaurant so unique.
