Once destined for the junkyard – now part of art history

One of Australia’s most in-demand contemporary artists, David Bromley, will be using luxury cars for the first time as his canvas when he exhibits during Chapel Street’s PROVOCARÉ Festival of the Arts. The Chapel local is giving the world’s most coveted cars the ultimate Bromley treatment. His upcoming art exhibition, ‘Whatever You Dream’, will feature art work on exclusive car brands such as Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz and Jaguar.

PROVOCARÉ Festival Director, John Lotton, believes this open-air exhibition will be like no other. “You may have heard that expression ‘you don’t put a bumper sticker on a Bentley,’ but what about putting an entire art piece on a Rolls Royce? Well that’s exactly what David Bromley has masterfully achieved.”

For David Bromley, giving new life to automotive classics is nothing out of the ordinary. “It’s as natural to me to paint on a Rolls Royce as it is to make a cheese toastie… I gave myself permission,” says Bromley of his vocation.

Bromley sourced cult-worthy cars that have been stripped of their interior and engines. Most of these cars were destined for the junkyard, but thanks to Bromley’s masterful detailing, they become collectable items once more.

Bromley’s unique open air exhibition can be seen from July 5-15 on Oxford Street, South Yarra. Admission is free. More info – www.provocare.com.au/bromley
