If you’ve lived in Melbourne for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard of Lindy Klim. She’s often at the coolest of cool events and dressed in that way that looks absolutely effortless, yet perfectly pulled together. The rumour is that she is part Balinese princess and therefore has ample time pool-side with Pina Colada in hand to brainstorm tomorrow’s pants and tee combination. Either way, she always looks impeccable.
It made sense to me when I recently discovered that LIFEwithBIRD had done a collaboration with Lindy as the two compliment each other like donuts and jam. LIFEwithBIRD has been a long time go-to for me. It’s that store you can head into when you need quality pieces with unique prints that you can wear to work that are also edgy enough to kick on in after. If you’re unfamiliar with this Chapel Street store, it’s a local Melbourne designer brand created by Bridget McCall and Nicholas Van Messner. Fun fact/s: Bridget is known as ‘Bird’ and is the sister of Alice McCall – what a family!
Lindy has taken the LIFEwithBIRD design ethos to the next level with her spin on the season and has successfully fused together lounge and cocktail wear. The ‘Monte Carlo Jacket’ with ‘Sahara Pant’ is my pick of the bunch and I was thrilled that a couple of twenty-something’s asked if I was from New York when I wore it. If you want a piece of the action (or in this case, collection) get in quick as pieces have been selling out.
Meanwhile, these Manning Cartell shoes. Need we say more?
