There’s something about warm, soft, juicy burger that makes life instantly better. The way it feels in your hands (put the knife and fork down you sociopath), the slightly drippy sauce, the delicate rise of the steam as you raise it towards your welcoming mouth…

If you’ve got a burger craving that needs satisfying, try these guys. Salivation guaranteed.

Got a burger craving you’re trying to kick? Look no further than Betty’s Burgers and Concrete Co. Since travelling South from the tropical temperatures of Queensland, Betty has opened her second Victoria 50’s style burger shack in Windsor! Where juicy patties, perfectly melted cheese and tasty sauces reign supreme. An extraordinary simple menu, our pick is Betty’s Classic with a side of french fries and sriracha mayo. Oh, and if you were wondering what ‘concrete’ refers to, only a rich and creamy custard ice-cream that Betty likes to whip up in her spare time. We suggest the Cookie Butter – vanilla frozen custard, crumbed Biscoff cookies, cookie butter and cinnamon sugar. You can thank us later.

They’re one of the originals and they own taste. They’ve been in the game for decades and their burgers are so meticulously refined, that once you’ve eaten one you’ll question how you missed out on such well crafted patty for so long. Huxtaburger have dropped the clutch on the flavour highway, leaving a pile of greasy napkins in their wake.

Do’s – M.Y.O burger and choose from an intense selection of add-ons. These guys welcome serious DIYers. Order the fiery BBQ basted ribs and wings. Throw in some onion rings, mac ‘n’ cheese pucks and don’t forget the french fries with Rocomayo. Oh, and a chocolate thickshake to top it off, that’s a no-brainer.
Don’ts – Wear white. First date? This meal cannot be eaten gracefully (sauce will go everywhere).

New to the Chapel Street Precinct RocoMamas Burger joint on Chapel Street

American style burgers that are extraordinarily simple. The same combo is repeated with a few extras added for those who like their burgers with all the trimmings. Our pick? The Chicken Burger. Crispy fried chicken, slaw, pickles, tomato, cheese & chipotle. Throw some onion rings on the side for a little extra something something. The 4.2 star google rating ain’t wrong, Parlour Diner is damn satisfying.

South Yarra’s gourmet burger cafe is more than a local favourite, their burgers are a borderline obsession for the locals that frequent their golden yellow doors. Stop in for a Too Cheesy and see exactly how a cheese burger should be made.

Fun, quirky and obviously a little social media obsessed, #burgerlove give a few burger joints a run for their cheddar! While the menu is packed burgs that sound down right delicious, we’re not too sure about the #DEATH BY CHOCOLATE. Beef patty, American cheddar, bacon, Heartstarter. XXX BBQ sauce and NUTELLA. Cray.

If the burger game of Chapel Street wasn’t already fierce enough, Kung Fu Burger ups the ante! This killer burger joint fuses the holy burger with niche Asian flavours. The Oh Crab and Buddha Temple burgers look interesting, but it’s the Peking Pork Tacos that are top of our list!

The story of California Burgers starts in 2002, when founder Theo Tzavaras ventured to Los Angeles for the first time. Theo experienced his first American burger at an iconic burger restaurant in LA, and from that moment on, he was hooked. Every beef patty is handmade and hand-smashed for each burger. It doesn’t get much better than this people.

This two story burger palace is the sister venue to the Peninsula’s Southside Social, so you know they’re serving up some of the best burgers around. There’s walls covered in the most amazing street art ever seen on the inside of Windsor brick and on top of slingin’ incredible patties, they’ve got an outdoor terrace and a top notch selection of cocktails. We warn you, the Harlem Burger (pictured above) is not for the faint hearted; Southern fried hot chicken, american cheddar, white bbq sauce & maple mayonnaise served in between two butter milk waffles dusted in powdered sugar. Good luck.
