Everyone knows Chapel Street & Toorak Road in South Yarra. The main drags have been, erm, dragging in the punters with their high fashion and well known brands. But have you wandered off the crowded path lately? There’s a small, but wondrous little patch of South Yarra buried amongst high rises, and in there is Yarra Street & Yarra Lane. If you’re up for an adventure and need a few more brunch spots to add to your growing list, here’s a few hotspots on ‘the Yarras’ that you need to check out.

If you haven’t heard of the new brunch madam in South Yarra, you either hate having a good time, or you live North Side. In either case, you probably won’t like it here. It’s far to too pink, the vibes are WAY too Palm Springs and you probably hate boozy breakfasts – so $30 bottomless cocktails with brunch won’t interest you at all. We won’t even get into the affordable prices, the ridiculously good asian influenced plates of deliciousness or the really, really good coffee. You shouldn’t visit House of Lulu White. You’ll have far too good a time.

A cute corner cafe that sits right on Yarra Lane. You’ll know it straight away by the quirky science theme, wild plants and tasty looking food. From our chat with the team, their focus is on quality, healthy food for South Yarra locals who are known to be all about #ThatFitspoLife. They even let it slip that Lleyton Hewitt stops in most mornings for an Açai Wake Up Bowl.

1/9 Yarra St, South Yarra VIC 3141

A specialty coffee, doughnut and brunch bar that makes food so pretty it makes us cry. Well, maybe not cry, but totally weep with delight. It’s a pop in, take the goods away kinda joint that’s open Monday to Friday. Perfect if you’re a local at South Yarra Station across the road. It’s a well known fact that doughnuts makes Vic Transport 100% more bearable.

If you’re anything like us, you’ll find that it’s super pain in the ‘peach emoji’ to find a great place to take your vego, cross fitting, no gmo, organic only, gluten intolerant mate for lunch or brunch. Well, Simple Seed might just change all of that! Simple Seed is all about fresh, seasonal fruit & veg turned into wholesome salads, soups, smoothies and raw desserts. It’s all hand crafted and made from scratch so they know that there are zero nasties. And just FYI, it’s all delicious too!

Southside Espresso Bar

A warehouse styled cafe that serves up a damned good cup of coffee, great cafe food that has plenty of options (especially for our vege friends), space to sit, and a vibe that’s a little bit hustle. Check it out.
