The Chapel Street Precinct Association (CSPA) is pleased to announce the long-awaited return of the iconic Chapel Street Festival in 2025!

There has been a groundswell of support to bring back the much-loved Chapel Street Festival and we have been working tirelessly to get the support needed to make it happen!

We are grateful for the boost from the State Government and look forward to the celebration in early 2025 of what makes our Chapel Street Precinct such an important destination for Melbourne and the state!

Detailed consultation has taken place over the last 12 months with traders and both State and Local Governments and the street is now set to host the Iconic Chapel Street Festival, ensuring this festival provides a significant economic return for our iconic Precinct.

The Chapel Street Precinct Association is proud to announce that it has formally appointed Matt “Lanis” Lanigan to the exciting new role of ‘Chapel Street Festival Director’.

Matt brings a wealth of experience to the role of Festival Director, having worked within the precinct for over 20 years. He has a deep knowledge and skill set in hospitality, event planning and execution, plus branding creation.

A serial entrepreneur having nine start-ups to his name, Matt loves helping to mentor and support businesses across all sectors, which will be another asset he brings to this role.

“I am honoured to be given the opportunity to lead the team to bring back the iconic Chapel Street Festival. This will be a huge step forward in helping restore the energy and diversity of the world-class destination that is Chapel Street,” said Matt Lanigan.

Matt’s love for the community, inclusiveness and diversity is also something that will be evident through the concept of the Chapel Street Festival. Once you meet Matt and witness his energy, you will quickly find it infectious. He has often been referred to as a measured level-headed diplomat, that radiates positivity and optimism.
