If you’ve ever found yourself watching someone break apart a chunky Brooki cookie on TikTok and wondered whether it was worth the hype, you’re about to find out.
After years of Melbourne fans flooding the comments, sliding into the DMs and even flying to Brisbane just to get their hands on one, Brooki Bakehouse is officially opening its first permanent Victorian home. and it’s landed right here on Chapel Street.
The doors open on Friday, 7 August, at 574 Chapel Street, South Yarra.
And if history is anything to go by, you’ll want to get there early.
The bakery that broke the internet
Since opening in Brisbane in 2022, Brooki Bakehouse has grown from a local bakery into one of Australia’s biggest food success stories. With more than four million followers across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, its oversized cookies have become the stuff of social media legend, regularly selling out within hours and drawing queues around the block.
Now, Melbourne finally gets the real thing. No pop-up. No limited residency. A permanent flagship serving Brooki’s full menu, fresh from the oven, seven days a week.
A Melbourne-only cookie? Yes, please.
To celebrate the opening, Brooki is launching a Melbourne-exclusive Tiramisu Cookie, available only at the Chapel Street flagship. Founder Brooke Bellamy will also be baking in-store from 10am on opening day, giving fans the chance to meet the woman behind the cookies. And because no opening day is complete without a little extra excitement, the first 100 customers through the door will score free Brooki merch.
More than just cookies
While the cookies may have built the cult following, the Chapel Street store will offer Brooki’s complete range of baked goods and treats. Think warm cookies fresh from the oven, sweet treats and all the favourites that have made the Brisbane bakery one of the country’s most talked-about food destinations.
Safe to say, Chapel Street just got a little sweeter.
